Interlachen – On July 20, 2010, deputies arrested a 43 year-old Interlachen woman for neglect of the elderly causing great bodily harm.

On July 19, 2010, Deputy Scott Surrency responded to the Putnam Community Medical Center Emergency Room to a complaint of a possible elderly neglect. He met with a 76 year-old patient who was suffering from bed sores on her feet, legs, and buttocks. The severity of the sores and the lack of preventative treatment had caused the injuries to become severely infected. Medical personnel informed Deputy Surrency that it appeared the victim was not receiving proper care in the form of basic hygiene or medical treatment. After speaking with the victim, Deputy Surrency determined where she was living, and that she was being cared for by Rena Susan Gullion.

On July 20, 2010, deputies located Rena Susan Gullion at her residence in Interlachen. She allowed deputies to inspect the residence and victim’s room to verify the living conditions were satisfactory. After conducting the inspection and speaking with Gullion, she was arrested for neglect of an elderly person causing great bodily harm.

Rena Susan Gullion was transported to the Putnam County Jail and booked with a bond of $2,504.00.
